Modern Slavery Statement
1. Introduction
This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive. It sets out the steps Hextal Group N.V. and its subsidiaries have taken during the financial year ending 31 December 2025 to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
2. Our business and supply chains
Hextal is a European civil engineering and construction group employing 41,800 people across 18 countries. Our supply chain encompasses over 12,000 direct suppliers providing materials, equipment, and specialist services. Key supply chain categories include structural steel, concrete and aggregates, heavy plant and machinery, temporary labour, and specialist sub-contracting.
3. Risk assessment
We have identified the following areas of elevated risk within our operations and supply chain: temporary and agency labour (particularly in regions with high migrant worker populations), raw material sourcing (aggregates, metals, and timber from regions with known forced labour concerns), and sub-contracted services in jurisdictions with weaker regulatory enforcement.
4. Policies and due diligence
All tier-one suppliers are required to sign Hextal's Ethical Supply Chain Charter, which includes explicit prohibitions on forced labour, debt bondage, and child labour. Our due diligence programme includes pre-qualification assessments, on-site audits, and third-party verification through EcoVadis. In 2025, we conducted 847 supplier audits, of which 23 resulted in corrective action plans and 4 resulted in contract termination.
5. Training
All procurement, HR, and site management personnel complete mandatory modern slavery awareness training annually. In 2025, 8,420 employees completed the programme. Training covers identification of indicators, reporting procedures, and legal obligations under applicable national legislation.
6. Reporting concerns
Concerns can be reported through our independent whistleblower line, operated by an external provider, available 24/7 in 14 languages. Reports can be made anonymously. All reports are investigated by the Group Compliance team and escalated to the Executive Board where appropriate.
7. Board approval
This statement was approved by the Executive Board of Hextal Group N.V. on 28 February 2026 and is signed by the Group Chief Executive Officer.
